Mason County High School: Three-year starting quarterback for head coach David Buchanan... amassed career totals of 8,004 passing yards--the eighth-highest total in Kentucky prep history-- and 82 touchdowns, and also rushed for 1,302 yards and 38 scores... completed 63 percent of his passes... recorded a 35-6 mark as a starting QB... recorded 4,014 yards total offense and 52 touchdowns as a senior while helping his team to the state semifinals... first team all-league pick his junior and senior seasons...rated as the No. 21 player in Kentucky by Super Prep...led Mason County High School to a 35-2 record and the state championship in 2002-03 as the squad's point guard in basketball... earned all-region honors and was named to the state all-tournament team...National Honor Society member and recipient of the school's Distinguished Student Award his sophomore and junior years... a 4.0 honor roll student for his high school career... active in the school chorus.
