UC first in on 2012 player

Cincinnati's Colerain High School has several players being recruited by Cincinnati, one of them being a sophomore defensive tackle.

As a freshman, Trae Clark played mainly on the offensive side of the ball, but moved to defensive tackle as a sophomore and expects to play there again in 2010 for the Cardinals.

Being a sophomore, Clark cannot receive written scholarship offers, but can receive verbal offers. While he hasn't received a verbal offer from the Bearcats, Clark thinks that might change and has talked with the UC coaching staff, mainly Kerry Coombs and defensive line coach Steve Stripling, "about two or three times."

The 6-foot-4, 300 pound lineman describes his strengths as a player as "leadership, being good my feet and having a lot of commitment to the team."

This summer Clark said he plans to attend a UC camp and will be at Higher Ground, Indiana for Colerain's team camp.

Clark said Cincinnati was the first school to contact him and that will be something he remembers as he heads into his junior year and the offers begin to roll in.
