Final Time In Nippert Curtis Young

Friday's game against Illinois was the final time the senior members of the 2009 University of Cincinnati football team took to the Nippert Stadium turf. We take a short look back at each of them and now look at Curtis Young.

Curtis Young – Cleveland Glenville

Class of 2005

When I first met Curtis Young his last name was Smith and he was one of the best pure athletes I’d ever seen. But what I’ll remember about Curtis is his desire to achieve.

There have been setbacks for Curtis over the years and I’ve seen many players in his position just give up and go back home to never be heard from again. But Curtis sucked it up and pulled himself up and got back on track to have a successful college career.

As I’ve written and told Curtis, I’m one of his biggest fans and very proud of what he’s done on the field but even prouder for what he did to get things turn around in the classroom to earn back his football career.

As I’ve also told Curtis, I hope he never loses the desire to achieve and better himself each and every day. He’s got a great future ahead of him and I can’t wait to see what happens next in his life.
