Stephenson Certified By NCAA

Posted Nov 5, 2009

Let the games begin as the University of Cincinnati received official word from the NCAA today that prized freshman men’s basketball player Lance Stephenson has been cleared and can begin playing immediately.

Lance Stephenson, a 5-Star recruit from Brooklyn (NY) Abraham Lincoln High School has been on campus waiting for word from the NCAA for clearnace as he prepared for the upcoming season.

Now, Stephenson is cleared and ready to take the court helping the Bearcats squad strengthen their roster for what should be a very strong year.

Here is Stephenson’s player evaluation from

One of the most physical wing players in the nation. His body is too strong for most high school wings and he’s able to get into the paint at will. Shot is an area for improvement and he’s gotten better in that area each season. Plays an attacking style and with a body similar to LeBron’s, it works for him. Competitive, wears his emotions on his sleeve.

Stephenson will take his place with the Bearcats tonight and be looked upon to provide even more offense in what should be Mick Cronin’s best season as head coach at Cincinnati.
