The Ohio High School regular season is over and now the second season is ready to begin with playoff games kicking off on Friday and Saturday night. Here is a look at some future Bearcats and where they’ll be on the field.
Clint Shepherd vs. Jibreel Black (Friday 7:30 p.m.) Wyoming High School
The biggest match-up of future Bearcats will come when Eaton High School and Clint Shepherd will battle the newest Bearcat verbal pledge Jibreel Black of Wyoming High School.
This will be a good game for Bearcat fans to catch as there is a very good chance that Shepherd and Black could be having plenty of one-on-one battles on the night.
Wyoming also has a couple of other players to watch with the main one being junior quarterback Kyle Seyfried who has shown a strong arm and good athletic ability for the Bearcats to take notice.
Eric Lefeld - Coldwater vs. Hamilton Badin (Friday 7:30 p.m.) Coldwater High School
Lefeld is one of the early Bearcat pledges and while he’s gong under the radar his team is known for being a program to watch when the playoffs come around. Badin may be undermanned, but with junior quarterback Patrick Coyne this could become a shootout.
Dominique Brown - Winton Woods vs. Ross (Friday 7:30 p.m.) Winton Woods High School
In Division Two, Region 8 action Dominique Brown of Winton Woods will look to get his team into the second round in a very tough bracket. With Trotwood-Madison, Turpin and Tecumseh in the region Winton Woods will be a team many feel has a chance to advance. Brown has a lot of athletes around him but may be one of the best overall athletes in Ohio.
While Friday night is a good chance to catch some future Bearcats on the field, Saturday night will find the Bearcats playing at home at 8:00 p.m. and a few future Bearcats in action as well.
Kevin Schloemer & Alex Smith – Lakota West vs. Anderson (Saturday 7:00 p.m.) Anderson High School
While Kevin Schloemer is a solid verbal commitment, Alex Smith (soft verbal) has continued to keep his options open. Lakota West is loaded with talent, but Anderson is a program with solid players on both sides of the ball and the experience of playing playoff football having won the Division Two title just two seasons ago and finishing runner-up last season.
Luke Massa – St. Xavier vs. Centerville (Saturday 7:00 p.m.) St. Xavier High School
Massa and his St. Xavier teammates are coming off a big victory over Moeller to capture the GCL title and Centerville could prove to be a tough match-up.
