As Bearcat Insider posted on its premium message boards early on Friday a member of the University of Cincinnati’s football team was injured during practice on Wednesday and is out for this weekend’s game and more.

Cincinnati senior defensive end Curtis Young underwent surgery on his right knee Friday and will miss three to six weeks. Bearcats team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Angelo Colosimo performed the operation on Young who went down during Wednesday’s practice.

Look for Walt Stewart to pick up the reps Young would have been getting.

In other team news defensive back Malik James has left the team and will return to California according to head coach Brian Kelly.
