For University of Cincinnati quarterback Tony Pike much is expected during the 2009 season. On Monday he got off to a great start and on Tuesday the Big East Conference recognized his efforts.

The Big East Conference released their Weekly Football Awards on Tuesday afternoon and while the Bearcats had a dominate performance over Rutgers only one member of the team was honored.

Quarterback Tony Pike picked up Big East Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance over the Scarlet Knights on Monday. Pike threw for a carer-high 362 yards and three touchdowns as the Bearcats gained the early lead in the Big East title chase with a 47-15 win at Rutgers. Pike completed 27-of-34 passes, including two second-quarter scores that helped the Bearcats to a 31-7 halftime lead. Tony surpassed the 300-yard mark for only the third time in his career.
