One Half Towards History

With a 20-7 advantage over West Virginia, the University of Cincinnati is one half away from making history.

Brian Kelly told anyone who would listen that a Bearcats win over West Virginia would be the biggest victory in the short history of his tenure and maybe in the schools history.

With a Mardy Gilyard touchdown on the opening kickoff, the Bearcats have played stingy defense and keep the Mountaineers offense in check. If this type of play continues the Bearcats will return to campus in a three-way tie for first in the Big East Conference.

Keys so far have been the play of Tony Pike staying within the game plan and the return by Gilyard. The defense has played strong and is keeping the crowd out of the game. But the miss chance of placing points on the scoreboard is still a concern at this point in the game and you hope it doesn't come back and haunt the Bearcats in the end.

Bearcat Insider will have more thoughts after the game in what could be history in the making.
