The University of Cincinnati’s Carla Jacobs was named to the 2007 All-BIG EAST Freshman Team. The 5-foot-7 rookie point guard was honored at the annual awards banquet which opened the 2007 BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Championship, presented by Aéropostale.
Jacobs, a native of Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate of Regina High School, led Cincinnati in assists with 4.2 a game, sixth best in the BIG EAST. She also paces the Bearcats with a team-best 1.95 assist/turnover ratio, the best freshman mark in the conference. Jacobs also adds 8.3 points per contest.
Jacobs marks the second consecutive Bearcat to be named to the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team. Shelly Bellman was selected to the team last year, UC’s inaugural season in the conference.
