    Cincinnati Head Coach Mick Cronin:
"It was a big win for our team and a tough loss for Miami. I have a lot of respect for Coach Coles. His team plays hard and has lost a lot of close games. They just need to get that win that gets them over the hump."

"We were bale to get enough points against a tough team. We scored more than teams like Kentucky and Xavier did. Miami only allows 8.8 assists per game. They really make it hard on you and we were able to get 13 assists and 60 points."

"Obviously Jamual Warren at the end of the game made some huge plays. He stepped up, Marvin Gentry gave us four baskets and Sikes stepped up. You can't be a team that if a team takes away one or two guys you can't win."

"I was impressed by (Nathan) Peavy. We tried to take him away and he refused to allow us to."

    Junior Center Marcus Sikes
"As a team, when one player is not playing well, it is up to the rest of the guys to pick up the slack. Our focus tonight was to start from the inside and take it to them tonight. We didn't want to shoot to many jump shots or three pointers. Towards the end I kept looking up at the clock. It was pretty intense, but as a team we just fought it out and came away with a big win."

On Deonta Vaughn "Even though Deonta wasn't scoring as much, he was so effective in other ways, getting guys involved. He is the point guard. He doesn't always have to score, he's a great passer."

    Junior Guard Jamual Warren
"As a team we knew we had to stay aggressive. We went into a full court trap, we had to be aggressive and make it work. I feel as though individually, I have been working real hard in practice and that is carrying over into the games."

On Deonta Vaughn: "Deonta really told me that he was off, it was my time, I had to step up, which wasn't nothing new to me. Whenever John (Williamson) or Deonta struggle, other people have to step up in order for us to win."

On the end of the game: "As a player, I tried to get my team up. Those two plays were just a result of me wanting to win and make my team excited. I saw that we weren't performing as well, I tried to step up my game and I knew that the whole team would come behind."

Miami (Ohio) Head Coach Charlie Coles:
"Well I didn't know what to think. One minute we were tied with the ball, and we threw the ball away twice real quick, and now the game is over. We had a lot of trouble with dribble penetration, and it got better the second half. I thought we played really good defense the second half. We stayed with the dribbler more."

"Vaughn was one of our guys to stop. Vaughn and Williamson were our focus, and I think we did a good job on both of them. I think clearly those were the two guys that they go to. The problem was the other guys that come along, like Warren."

"I thought Warren had like four goals, but he had six [of them]. I think he took advantage of our press. He got two key baskets in the second half. I thought before the game that I was hoping Warren wouldn't realize that he had a physical advantage against our point guard. I was hoping everyone from UC would forget."
