Rob Trigg of Chaminade-Julienne High School received a written scholarship offer from Cincinnati in early spring so he's had plenty of time to consider his options. In addition to Cincinnati, those options include offers from Pittsburgh, Toledo and Kent State. Bearcat Insider spoke to Rob this week to see how his recruitment was progressing and ask if he was getting any closer to making his college choice.
Bearcat Insider had heard Rob was close to pledging to UC. Here‘s his response to that rumor. "Kind of but not really. I‘m kind of waiting it out. I‘ll probably have my mind made up by the end of the summer."
The 6' 3"/235 pound defensive end attended Coach Dantonio's one day camp in the middle of June and got to visit the new Lindner Building. Like everyone else Rob was impressed with the finished product. Cincinnati is the only campus he's visited this summer, and he has no plans of attending any other camps or schools.
When asked how UC compares with the other schools offering a scholarship, Rob was very complimentary. "They are very high on my list. My Dad really likes it, and my Mom likes what she's heard of it, but she hasn't been up there with us yet. We plan on making another trip this summer and take a tour of the college."
We at Bearcat Insider believe UC has extended well over 60 scholarships this summer. When needs are filled, some scholarship offers will have to be pulled. This will eventually become a numbers game so it should be interesting as players start to commit.
