Fans of the Bearcats will be quick to note the names that have made the cut
on the CollegeFootballNews.com preseason All-Big East list. While many wondered
if any Bearcats would make the list this season, the Bearcats do have some
talent coming up through the ranks. While no Bearcats made first team offense,
defense was a different story.
Sophomore defensive back Mike Mickens enjoyed a great freshman year in 2005.
For his play he's gained attention from many and received preseason honors by
being named to the All-Big East Defensive First Team. The Huber Heights, Ohio
native along with Pittsburgh return man Darrelle Revis are the only sophomores
to make the first team defensive squad.

While the Bearcats didn't place anyone on the first team offense they did see
two players earn 2nd Team honors. Senior tight end and returning team captain
Brent Celek along with junior wide receiver Earnest Jackson both earned honors.
On defense Sophomore Trevor Anderson was able to find some fans of his game.

While Bearcat fans are happy for the players listed I'm sure they feel a few
have been slighted. But that's why they play the game on the field and not on
paper.
