One thing you learn fast if you're in the University of Cincinnati football program is this. If you have talent, Coach Dantonio will work to find a way to get your skills on the field. The latest example of this is David Wess who entered UC as a quarterback and is now seeing his second move back to the offensive side of the football.
Wess, who came in last fall as a quarterback, saw the staff move him over to safety in hopes of getting him on the field. But while Wess didn't fight the move, his skills on the offensive side of the football made the Bearcats coaching staff rethink the move and look for a position on offense for the gifted athlete.
Where did the Bearcats coaching staff send David? They moved him over to Coach Hinton and the running backs for this spring. With some injuries to key members of the running back crew, Coach Hinton has been working with David to make him a polished ball runner and capable of playing when called upon. So far the move looks to be a good one for all parties as Wess has shown the ability to run hard and use his strength and speed out of the back field.
Bearcat Insider spoke with David about this move in position and has this audio interview for your enjoyment.
