Former Bearcat earns NFL Honors.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Former University of Cincinnati standout defensive end Trent Cole has been named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for his play with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cole, who made his first two career starts, set an Eagles record for sacks in a month with five and posted 15 tackles and a forced fumble. He became the first Philadlephia player to record a five-sack month since the stat was instituted in 1982.

A fifth-round draft pick, Cole finished second in career tackles for loss and third in sacks when he concluded his three seasons at UC, where he was a third team All-American and team defensive MVP as a senior.
