Centerville High's Jared Weyler had had an exciting couple of days, as two in-state schools from the Mid American Conference have extended scholarship offers his way, the first two of his recruitment.
"I got my first offer from Bowling Green [on Saturday]," he said. "I got offered by Ohio University [on Monday]."
The 6'4, 260-lb Weyler has played two years of varsity for the Elks and is capable of playing guard or tackle, although he likely projects to the interior. Either way, he is simply happy that he will have an opportunity to continue playing after high school.
"It was awesome. It's another step into reaching one of my goals in playing Division-1 college football and getting a good education."
As for visiting either of those schools or any others, that is still to be determined.
"I hope it keeps going. I'm not totally sure what I am doing yet [for visits]. I'm real busy with basketball right now, so if I take any it will be a short notice decision."
Weyler is also hearing from Notre Dame, Ohio State, West Virginia, and Cincinnati.
