Wolfe Leads Way For Bearcats In Draft

With the final pick of John Hughes by Cleveland in the third round, Cincinnati ended the day with three former Bearcats taken in Day Two of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Early in the second round of the NFL Draft, former Cincinnati defensive tackle Derek Wolfe got the phone call he's dreamed about since his prep days at Beaver Local in Lisbon, Ohio. Wolfe, who was the fourth pick of the second round, the 36th overall got the call from the Denver Broncos.

Soon after running back Isaiah Pead proved the Bearcats can produce talent when he was selected with the 18-th selection in the second round, 50th overall buy the St. Louis Rams.

If having two second rounds picks weren't enough, John Hughes became the 24th player taken in the third round, 87th overall by the Cleveland Browns.

To find this much success by the Bearcats in the NFL Draft you would have to go back to 1960 when Jim Leo, Jack Lee and Ed Kovac were all chosen in the first 100 picks.

Are the Bearcats done? Bearcat fans will have to continue watching as a couple of more names could find themselves selected before all is said and done.
