Bearcats land 5-star Anderson for 2012

Former Cleveland safety Latwan Anderson said he plans to attend Cincinnati in January.

Butch Jones has landed his first five-star recruit.

Former Cleveland Glenville safety Latwan Anderson announced via his twitter page Monday that he will be attending the University of Cincinnati. However, he will be a part of the 2012 class as he will attend prep school until December, also according to his twitter page.

One of the top players in the state of Ohio, Anderson committed to West Virginia at the U.S. Army All-American game, but never signed.

Instead, Anderson attended Miami last season on a track scholarship, and was going to walk-on for football. But, once he played a game for the Hurricanes, his scholarship would have been converted to football. The former five-star safety left the football team in October before leaving school altogether in December.

Since he never stepped foot on the field, Anderson could have four seasons of eligibility. Recommended Stories
