Monday night marked the official start of the exhibition season for Mick Cronin’s 2010-11 men’s basketball squad. With a home opening exhibition, Cronin looked to get the Bearcats started on the right foot and found his team up for the task.
The Bearcats were no strangers to Carleton, as the two teams matched up just a couple of months ago in a three-game tour in Canada.
Yancy Gates led the Bearcats with 23 points as the Bearcats hit on just under fifty-percent from the field.
Dion Dixon (19 pts.) and Sean Kilpatrick (16 pts.) joined Gates as double digit scorers on the night and Cashmere Wright dished out 5 assists to go with 7 points. Overall, eleven different Bearcats scored on the night and held the Canadians to just 40% from the field.
However, Elliot Thompson did score 20 points on the night.
The Bearcats will return to the court on Tuesday, November 9, in a 7 p.m. battle with Indiana University Southeast at Fifth Third Arena.
